Va Legal Aid Services

We provide free civil legal services to low-income families in 17 counties and four small cities in southwestern Virginia.

And we assist in the management of an OBRA Trust to benefit veterans and their families. Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society SVLAS is a private non-profit law firm. NVLSP is an independent nonprofit veterans service organization dedicated to ensuring that the US. The Legal Services Corporation of Virginia LSCV was formed and incorporated in 1975 by the Virginia State Bar the Virginia Department of Social Services and the Virginia Legal Aid Association to develop fund coordinate and oversee the delivery of civil legal services to the poor in Virginia. Our veterans risk their lives to keep our country safe and free.

The VA Veterans Justice Outreach Specialist at the closest VA Medical Center may be another source of information about the clinics. To seek assistance on a legal matter Veterans may call or email a legal services provider listed below in their area. If you are interested in applying for services you may contact our Central Intake Unit at 757-827-5078 or you may apply online. Fees can be waived in cases of economic hardship.

During the COVID-19 Outbreak Virginia Legal Aid Societys offices will remain open by appointment and during limited open business hours. Legal Aid Works is a non-profit corporation that provides free high-quality civil legal assistance to low income individuals and families. VLAS fees are based on a clients income household size and assets. No walk-in applications are being taken and our lobbies are closed to the public. Since 1971 CVLAS has defended the rights of those who cant defend themselves.
